Welcome on board!

You’ve reached the site of Komunikasi Kampus!, a group opinion blog initiated by a group of students from the School of Communication at Universiti Sains Malaysia.

We’re in the process of building this site, please check back next Monday (17 Sept, 2007) for our soft-launch!

So, what’s Komunikasi Kampus! all about? Let us first make ourselves clear that we are non-for-profit, and will encourage non-anonymity in all of our writings.

Intended to facilitate more progressive discussions on campus and participate pro-actively in the integration of the diverse student body at this university, this blog will be made up of the expressions of six (possibly more) budding writers at the School of Communication.

Currently at different levels of scholarship here, the current staff writers are generally moderate in their views, but are nonetheless diverse in opinion, which would add all the more colour to discourse.

In short, it is our humble hope that through greater discussion, our campus would become a ‘Communicating Campus’, in line with the university administration’s Healthy Campus policy.

What will we be writing about then? Everything. The staff writers will be writing on a variety of issues of direct relevance to our campus, things like events, interesting people, conflicts, food, football, movies, etc. are some of the topics you’ll find them writing about.

Of course, global/regional/national/local issues that are of public (and more importantly, students) interest will be covered from time to time.

We shall try our best to refrain from being crude, but at the same time remain honest with our observations.

Remember, we’re budding, not professional, writers. Thank you for reading!
