The most crucial week this semester

By Aaron Rao

For those who are reading this article on Friday, I am now at KL Assunta Hospital.  This week started just like any other week in campus with assignments pending and a load of unsettled tasks.  It would also have been the most crucial week of my semester so far because I will do my first ever video shooting for my broadcast assignment.  But life is really filled with its surprises.  Just one day before I am to start my shooting, I received bad news from my hometown.

  1. My beloved brother is admitted to the hospital suspected and now confirmed Dengue fever.
  2. My sweet loving grandmother is also admitted and is in dire need of blood.

It struck me like ton of bricks. All I had in my mind was “why does this have to happen to me now?”I felt so weak and powerless all of a sudden knowing that I have come to a point where I have to choose between my responsibilities as a varsity student and a brother/grandson. I was afraid that my group members are going to be upset with me leaving the shooting behind. But all doubts set aside; I called two of my fellow 4 members. Both of them gave me their sincere blessing to go home to be with my family at this time.

All I have is gratitude over my fellow members for allowing me to go home and be with my family. Thank You so much guys :) and to my fellow writers at Kasikampus, I would like to apologise for not contributing a better article this week.

Editor’s note: Our thoughts are with you and your family, Aaron.  Stay strong.
